Brian Grant Combating Parkinson’s Disease
Michael J. Fox and Brian Grant, both have been suffering from Parkinson’s and are teaming up to combat the disease together and at the same time to raise awareness for the disease. The two will be coordinating a charity performance for the Michael J. Fox Foundation, this summer in Portland, Oregon. Michael J. Fox also is the leader of the funding research for Parkinson’s disease. The event will be a two-day social event, with a ceremonial dinner Aug. 1 at the Rose Garden, in Portland. Pat Riley will be the speaker at the event and there will be a golf event at Pumpkin Ridge on Aug. 2.
Among the dignitaries present for the event there are names like, Muhammad Ali and the two are trying to rope in basketball pros like Bill Russell, Bill Walton and Julius Erving. Brian grant already has been known for his several charity works including the Brian Grant foundation. Brian kept his Parkinson’s diagnosis secret for quite a long period of time, but after encouragement from other Parkinson’s sufferers like Michael J. Fox and Muhammad Ali he publicized it and decided to raise awareness for the diseases. He even maintains a Facebook and twitter page to raise awareness about the disease. And keeps his fans updated about his status.
