Tony Kornheiser’s remarks on Hannah Storm gets him 2 week suspension

ESPN recently suspended Tony Kornheiser, current co-host of daytime Pardon the Interruption sports talk show (better known as PTI to some) for mocking ESPN’s own host Hannah Storm from  SportsCenter. Tony has worked with ESPN networks for years and its quite shocking decision from them considering its Tony’s style to make fun of people on air including himself.

Tony mocked Storm’s outfit and said its  “horrifying” and that her “very, very tight shirt” looks like “sausage casing” and he remarked her “Catholic school plaid skirt” as “way too short for somebody of her age”.

Kornheiser later apologized to Hannah Storm and issued an on-air apology. But ESPN had to get him down from his show and suspended him ‘for some time’.

John Skipper ESPN’s Content V.P. issued a statement on Tuesday telling that they think Kornheiser’s  comments on Hannah Storm are inappropriate and hurtful. Tonywill be suspended from PTI for two weeks.

It seems that ESPN has lost its sense of humor, isn’t this normal for colleagues to make fun of each other? Will they fire me from my job if i tell my co worker that she is too old to wear that top at work? Probably not but then i don’t work for ESPN.
