Apple Releases Iphone 3.1.3 Newest Firmware

Today Apple Launched the iPhone OS 3.1.3, the newest firmware for its multimedia phone as well as for the iPod Touch multimedia player.  The new firmware is expected to bring with it an improved more accurate report on battery level in the iPhone 3GS,

The iPhone OS 3.1.3 will also include includes a number of security component updates related to the software ImageIO, CoreAudio, Recovery Mode and WebKit. All the details regarding the release are available in the accompanying support document which is available to download on Apple’s web page.

The news firmware update for the iPod Touch and iPhone Operating system is downloadable through the ITunes client.

The previous firmware update, named iPhone OS 3.1.2, was released last October 2009. It repaired issues that would result in the iPhone not waking up from sleep while also resolving an error that could disable cellular network connections until a restart of the system.

Go on to iTunes for your newest copy of iPhone 3.1.3 (Build 7E18) which downloads at a rather hefty 228.1MB.

Although it is not exactly what we are clamouring for, Apple knows that people will be satisfied for the moment. A larger more comprehensive update should be released in the near future which will add a lot more exciting features to the Iphone we all already love. Apple always manages to surprise,
