Rik Mayall’s new anthem, Noble England

Rik Mayall is releasing a new World Cup song in the hopes that it will give England a patriotic boost ahead of the tournament in South Africa.
The actor has been working on an anthem that will be a hit with fans under the guise of the other man of the people, Henry V.
“Those three forks, that is what England is missing,” and Mayall holds three fingers up, “football, Shakespeare and Rik Mayall. Those are the three greatest cultural things that England has.”
Mayall is hoping his song, titled Noble England, will be what is needed to change the fortunes of a football team with patriotic zeal.
Since there will be no official song by the England squad, the path is cleared for any number of unofficial tracks racing for prominence before now and June.
Rik’s song, Noble England, is being released on St. George’s Day.
A former stand-up comic, Mayall starred in several hit television sit-coms, including The Young Ones, Bottom, Blackadder and The New Statesman.
He has also appeared in a number of big screen and TV films, including Drop Dead Fred and Guest House Paradiso.
The song, by Motivation Records, is due out in the spring. It blends an essence of Englishness with Rik’s deliverance of an adapted speech from the famous passage in Shakespeare’s ‘Henry V’. It is backed by catchy football chants and driving music.
