Washington Wizards Trade Antawn Jamison to Cleveland Cavaliers
The recent NBA trade fraught the era of “Big Three” in Washington to an end. The Washington wizards agreed for a three-team trade, in which Antwan Jemison was sent to Cleveland Cavaliers. Wizards will be getting a first-round pick from Cavaliers and center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, also for the other two transfers Wizards will get forwards Brian Skinner and Al Thornton from Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers will get forward Drew Gooden from the Wizards and sent point guard Sebastian Telfair to the Cavaliers.
Antawn Jamison’s move to Wizards in 2004 was seen as commandment of a whole new era for the Washington Wizards. And in his 5½-year run with Wizards he proved that right on several occasions.
Asking for a message for the fans, Jamison said, “I love them more than they love me”.
Jamison in Cavaliers will be joining forces with league’s most expensive player, LeBron James, who allegedly lobbied hard for Antawn Jamison, and Shaquille O’Neal. Jamison joined wizards expecting to clinch the title with them, but that didn’t happened. The continuous losing and troubling chemistry wore on him as the season progressed.
The Wizards became open to trade Jamison after they accomplished the deal with Dallas, that led to a $2.5 million investments this season and slash more than $15 million in next season for salary. Contrasting to previous trade Wizards actually got a talented bunch of players this.
