Windows Live Messenger Services including Hotmail.com was facing outage since Tuesday morning.

As users around the globe tried to access the services they were given a “service unavailable” error messages.

Windows Live Hotmail is Microsoft’s primary email service for end users. Its a free service offered under “Windows Live” group.

If you try to acces hot mail.com right now you might get an error like this:

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

If this is an server update or maintenance, i am sure the technical team picked the wrong time. for it in middle of noon when service is at its peak load. Perhaps doing it during middle of night might have saved a lot of troubled users.

Update: Microsoft replies:  “This morning, around 9:30am PST, the Windows Live ID sign-in service experienced a partial outage that caused some customers to not be able to sign into services using Windows Live ID for approximately one hour.”

“The service is now restored to normal. Microsoft apologizes for any inconvenience this has caused customers.”
