The Season 9 too brought several such examples, but among this latest collection of dreamers and freaks and prodigies the two most noteworthy or notorious contestant and their performance was Brian Krause and Shelby Dressel from Tuesday’s Atlanta and Wednesday’s Orlando auditions respectively. Both Shelby Dressel and Brian Krause struck for noticeably different reasons.

‘American Idol’ always has brought inspirational stories for the audiences and even though it’s too early to say, but Shelby Dressel will probably prove one of American Idol season 9’s most moving. Shelby was born with a jaw problem identifies as ‘damaged facial nerve’, but her abnormality vanishes when she sings, and leaves the focus of audiences only on her saintly vocals. Though Shelby needs a touch up in the confidence department, she is beautiful, modest and affable. And even if we keep the story behind Shelby Dressel aside, she deserves the golden ticket for the angelic vocals that mesmerized one and all.

As the Winter Olympics are on, and for the reason that Fox wants to get ratings though it can, tonight’s episode was of two hours. Though the padding was out of control but still the entire show easily would have been wrapped inside an hour. The episode started with remaining 71 contestants, divided into three different rooms, after their final performances. While the judges made their final deliberations, the show flashed the past performances of the contestants to let us know who they actually are. The contestants were getting nervous and having psychological torture as the judge took time to come out with their final verdict.

One among the contestants was Shelby Dressel. Shelby was born with certain jaw issues and despite that the girl has done exceedingly well all the way through Hollywood, even though we not at all saw her. She had main nervousness regarding the lyrics for her last audition piece, “More Than a Feeling.” Shelby Dressel sounded tremendous, on what could be said an immensely challenging song.

Shelby Dressel is expected to be one of the inspirational stories that American idol always has brought, but was missing in this season.
